Liam Update

Liam had his four month check up on Thursday. He now weighs 15 lbs 13 oz. He's one big boy! When he and Kyla sit together you can hardly tell the size difference between them. I guess when you are the youngest child you have to make up for it somehow.

Hey Robyn,
If that outfit that we got him for Christmas doesn't fit, I got it at Costco. Big boy!!
(I'd take it back for ya too)

Thanks! It does fit. He's been wearing 6 month clothes and they fit fine. It's mostly the onesies that I have a hard time fitting him into. He's wide in the torso so they tend to fit too snuggly.

PS The outfit looks so cute on him! I always wanted girls because there are lots of cute clothes for them, but I'm finding out that it can be just as fun to dress up a boy. I'm not into the real "boy" stuff, but there are still some nice boy clothes out there. Maybe the gender of the child doesn't really matter. I think it's the fact that everything is so small. What is it about "small" that makes us go "Ahh"? Maybe there is something innate in all of us that makes us want to protect and nurture the small. Is that why so many girl toys are so little, like Polly Pocket and Littlest Pet Shop? Are we trying to connect with that instinct when girls are young so that they will be good mothers? What about boys? Shouldn't we do the same thing with them so they will be good fathers? Maybe it's not as important with them because they are the traditional bread winners. With societal roles changing so fast, those types of rules should be obsolete. I think that as cultures and societies change, there is still that instinct that women are the caregivers and men are the providers. That's probably how we've survived as a species for so long.

My point is, you don't have to take the outfit back, but thanks anyway!
