6 Word Memoir

I was listening to NPR yesterday and the programme featured two editors who put together a book based on Hemingway's 6 word memoir: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." People were encouraged to submit their 6 word memoirs and there was such a huge response that a book of them was published and a second one is in the works. I was intrigued by the concept and listening to other's stories inspired me to try writing my own memoir. Here it is:

Living the life of opposites dreamed.

Now I'm encouraging you to write your own 6 word memoir and share it here with us.

Oooh, that's good. Very powerful words!
I'll have to think on this one a little bit.

Nice, Lise! That is so you!

This is hard. While this one isn't originally mine it really struck a cord with me.
Omit needless words. Omit needless people.
I will come up with my own though. I am determined!

As a busy mom I have to say I really relate to that one Erica!

Good luck, Erica! It's not as easy as it sounds, but you are smart and creative so I know you can do it.

Thanks for the added pressure, Robyn!

No problem!

I'm still workin on it. This is hard!

I know you can do it Sarah! Think about what means the most to you in your life or maybe an event that changed you. You don't have to try to bunch up your entire life up until now into six words. Maybe just try to some up your life right now at this moment.

I loved this post, but just couldn't come up with my own! I think yours is perfect. Your blog is awesome. I felt like copying this post and putting it on my blog. Very cool. I'll have to do something similar some day. I'll get a good 6 Word Memoir one of these days and do it.

I know you can do it Amanda. It's not easy, but once you start thinking about it and figure what would say most about it, the wording part isn't too hard. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I love yours Erica - geez, I could have written it myself! We do seem to think alike.

Lise, I think it has something to do with having so many kids!! My mind seems to get more scattered the more kids I have! That's why I am stopping at four!
