Jump Creek

On Saturday, we went for a short hike up at Jump Creek. It's really beautiful there with the rock outcroppings and the creek that runs through. I even had a butterfly land on my thumb.

The little trail goes right through this canyon

There are all kinds of caves in the canyon

We had to cross the creek on some rocks

The end of the trail

We even brought Suki with us. She got to come with us the first time we came here when Moira was about three and she was the only child.

The area was just starting to turn green with new new life

There is a cattle ranch at the entrance to the rec site. We had to stop on the way in because cows were crossing the road. This one was kind enough to let us pass on the way out.

Wow, what a beautiful place that Jump Creek! Where is it located?

I'm so glad Suki got to go there with you. I'm sure she enjoyed the outing and being with her family. We took Sofie to Antelope Island last week. She couldn't come to the trail with us, but she got to explore the parking areas. And she got SO excited about buffaloes and really wanted to go and meet them. Now she wants to be a buffalo when she grows up. :)

Jump Creek is in the Owyhees, passed Marsing. It takes about 40 minutes to get there. It's a lovely drive.

That's nice that you took Sofie with you. It's important for dogs to be with their families. I wish we could Suki to more places, but she's very aggressive with other dogs. I don't always trust her.
