Snowshoeing

Yesterday evening Sarah and I went snowshoeing up at Bogus Basin, our local ski area. It's about a 45-60 minute drive depending on the road conditions. This was only my third time showshoeing and my first time in the dark. It's like a whole new world. We got a beautiful view of the sparkling lights of the city below. The nordic trails are just past the downhill slopes and it was busy. We almost got run over by the cross-country skiers on several occasions. They're very stealthy! In spite of that, it was so quiet and peaceful. It was so nice to get outside and breathe the fresh air even though it was cold (19F/-7C).

It took us about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete one of the trails. I was so out of breath, it was pathetic. The lodge never looked so good!

We were tired but it was a good tired. Crawling into bed last night felt like a little piece of heaven.

That looks like so much fun! I am soooo jealous! I'm so glad that you got some time without the kids - you deserve a break!
Love you lots,

It was really fun. It felt so good to be physically tired instead of lazy tired! We should do it again soon! Like next week!

Hi Robyn,
This is Eva, I have the pleasure of working with your Mom at the health food store in Chilliwack. Your Mom gave me the address to your blog a long time ago and I had trouble with it. So weeks and weeks later, I'm viewing it now. I think that goes hand in hand with your New Year's Resolution #5, something about having more time for me.... funny, I thought I was the only one that didn't have privacy when I was in the bathroom! Thank you for sharing this blog with me. I really appreciate the funny stories, words of wisdom and for being able to take a peak at pictures of your loved ones, they are precious. Your Mom sure talks a lot about you, your kids and Will. I know she really, really misses you all. Thanks again. =)

I'm in Robyn! I think my mom will still be out of town so I'll have to see if my dad can have the kids for a bit. I'll let you know before Tuesday.
