Last night we had a very special visitor to our house. Santa came and made a surprise visit to the kids. He said that he was making a special visit because they had been so good this year. Moira invited him into the family room to rest his weary feet and to have a look at the Christmas lists that the girls made by cutting out pictures from newspaper flyers.

This was as close as Liam would get.
Next, Santa started pulling out presents from his sack.

Moira got the pink iPod that she wanted.

Santa even checked his list to make sure that he didn't make any mistakes.

Kyla got the kitchen that she asked for.

Since Liam didn't have a list, Santa brought him a very fun set of stacking cups.
After watching the kids open their gifts, Santa had to be on his way to visit some more children who had been extra good this year. It was such a delight and honour to have Santa in our home. I'm sure the girls won't soon forget it.

So, I didn't want to ruin the post with the "behind the scenes" stuff. Santa was really Will's supervisor. The beard is real, but apparently he dies his hair white at Christmas. (It's normally grey.) He was very good and had learned the kids' names beforehand so when he walked in the door he "knew" who they were. He was really good and acted the part really well. Will said he does this every year for free. I had never met him before so to me, he was Santa. We tried to get Moira to open the door when he knocked, saying that it was Grandma, but this was the one time that she looked through the little side window first. When she saw that it was someone she didn't recognize, she wouldn't open the door. I guess that was a good thing, but kind of ruined the surprise. The presents "from Santa" were ones that we got and left out by the front door for Santa to put in his bag. He had quite a few engagements last night so it was nice that he didn't rush through his visit with us. It really was so cool. I was touched that he would take the time to come to our house and make a memorable holiday for our kids.
No kidding eh, what a great guy to do something so incredibly nice ! Moira and Kyla are going to remember that for the rest of their lives....people like that give me inspiration to keep on going. That is truly the meaning of Christmas.
I love the photos !! The kids look so happy.....Moira got an ipod !! Wowsers !! Do you have to give her another big present now for Xmas morning or was that it ?
Funny about Moira checking through the window. Good girl Moira !!
That looked like a lot of fun!! That is so awesome that he does that.
The iPod was from Santa. Will and I got the girls a Wii for Christmas. Totally spoiled!
