Our Chickens

I got a request the other day to post some pictures of our chickens, so B, these are for you.

This is our no name chicken. I'm not sure why we didn't name her. I guess we'll have to think about what to call her.

This is Moira's chicken, Eagle.

This is my little Hilda.

You can see how small Hilda is compared to the other chickens.

We have an old dog house in the coop that they like to hide in.

This is where our chickens live under our deck. They have a big fenced in area, the dog house and a coop.

We love our chickens. They are so fun to watch when they wander around the yard, scratching and pecking. These ones are very talkative, but at least they keep quiet until later in the morning.

Lazy Sunday Morning

This is a typical lazy Sunday morning at our house - sitting on the couch, not in any hurry to move.

Then Suki lets me know that she wants to go outside, so I have to get up and it's all over.

Two Kids and a Camera

What happens when you loan your camera to two small children? Some very interesting photos! The other day I let Kyla and Liam use my camera and here are some of the pics they took.

Kyla got her turn first:

Liam is using my old Fisher Price camera that I played with when I was little.

Sometimes I forget how tall we must look.

These are the pics that Liam took:

There were lots of random shots of the chair legs. This is one of the few that didn't have his finger in front.

He also took lots of pics of Moira's legs.

There were some random shots of the carpet. This one got his cars in it.

There you have it. Two kids, a camera and an interesting group of photos.

Week of June 6th

It has been a busy week again this week. There is always something going on. Between Will and I taking classes this summer to working in the yard, and, of course, the kids are always on the go, there is rarely a dull moment. Here are a few things that happened this week.

These are the pillows I've been working on to sell at the Highland Games. The covers are made out of upcycled materials that I've found at the thrift store. The thistle and Rampant Lion are cut out of new felt, but it's made out of recycled products. The Salt Lake City games are this weekend. Kyla and Will are going down with Pam and Jim. Moira, Liam and I will stay home.

The weather has been really crummy this year. It's hard to believe that it's already June. We've had so much rain and the temperature hasn't gotten above the mid 70's F/low 20's C. That hasn't stopped the kids from getting into the pool.

Yes, Liam is wearing a Wonder Woman bathing suit. I love that he doesn't understand "girl stuff" and "boy stuff". Will thinks I'm mean for not pointing out the difference to him. I think it's great that he doesn't make that distinction. Besides, he'll have the rest of his life to worry about that kind of stuff.

Moira skimming the pool before jumping in.

Moira has been growing out her hair for quite a while now. She wanted to be able to donate it to Locks of Love. Finally, after much agony (her hair is so thick that it's hard to brush and it never stays tidy), it was long enough to cut.

That's what's been happening in our corner of the world this week and it's only Thursday. I can't wait to see what happens next week.
