A Little Taste of Spring

We finally got our first hint of spring the other day. On Thursday and Friday the weather was so warm and sunny, which we haven't had in a very long time.

On Thursday I took the kids to the Foothills Learning Centre. We had never been there before and were excited to try something new. We were greeted by a wonderful woman who took the time to tell us about all the different programmes the centre has and even showed us how to dissect an owl pellet to find the bones of its last meal. There are lots of trails around the centre that traverse the foothills and they have their very own "Storybook Trail".

We saw lots of elk/deer prints

Moira read us the story at the different stations around the Storybook Trail

After we finished the Storybook Trail and hit one of the other trails for a short hike, we went to the Co-Op and got our favourite cheezies, some drinks and hit Camel's Back Park. Unfortunately, lots of other people had the same idea of picnicking in the park.

Yesterday was another glorious day so we hit another park with some friends and then sat outside and had ice cream. Last night we barbecued and ate dinner under our new patio cover. Today it's rainy and windy again. It looks like we are back to our usual miserable weather. Oh, well. It was nice while it lasted.

We were blessed with a week of sunshine as well - it was wonderful! But now we are back to the miserable rain!!
